Excerpt: [Jane Chase] of South Harwich, who has battled breast cancer twice, received a scary letter yesterday from the Silent Spring Institute that described the results of scientific tests for toxic chemicals in her home. “We found DDT in two-thirds of the homes,” said Julia Brody, principal investigator of the Cape Cod Breast Cancer and Environment Study. “DDT was banned in 1972 so it’s been there for 30 years.
