To the Silent Spring Institute Community:

With great sadness, we mourn the loss on Sunday, September 6, of our dear friend Joan Cutler. Joan was a fireball of energy and ideas, and an open-hearted friend to all of us at Silent Spring Institute. Her amazing spirit and generosity brought so much to our community and to the world. We will miss her very much.

We hold in our hearts Joan's beloved family—her husband Ted Cutler, daughter Ellen Calmas, Chair of the Friends of Silent Spring Institute, and her husband Richard, Joan's sons Robert and Joel Cutler and their wives Pam and Randi, and her dear grandchildren.
