Silent Spring Institute’s Gala for Prevention is our largest fundraiser, supporting the Institute's vital mission to prevent breast cancer while bringing together the voices of individuals who have been impacted by this devastating disease. This year, our event will raise funds to support our pioneering community-based research, in which we partner with communities to answer critical questions about the environments where they live, work, and play. This innovative approach is also an effective strategy for improving science and health literacy, translating our research into better public health.
Join us in-person at our Gala for Prevention, or host a House Party and watch the live-streamed event with a small group of friends. Receive a specially delivered “Party in a Box” that includes a gourmet meal by MAX Ultimate Food with fine wines and/or the makings for a signature cocktail, thanks to Tito’s Vodka. The event will feature a keynote address by internationally renowned leader in environmental health, Leonardo Trasande, MD, MPP along with other celebrity guests. Gala for Prevention will honor Attorney General Maura Healey with the Rachel Carson Advocacy Award. Gala for Prevention promises to be a wonderful, passion-filled, interactive experience whether you attend in-person, or virtually.
The event begins with a Cocktail Reception with our returning hosts from GBH’s Boston Public Radio, Jim Braude and Margery Eagan and live entertainment by Session Americana. You will be able to interact with House Parties and our in-person audience before the exciting program begins. There will be a live auction with exclusive items and entertainment. More than 400 guests are expected to attend this highly-anticipated annual event. Silent Spring continues to be the only independent research institute whose mission is to uncover the environmental causes of breast cancer. Your generous tax-deductible gifts are vital to the continuation of our research. —JOIN US.
