According to the Environmental Working Group’s website Skin Deep, average American woman uses nine personal care products daily, often exposing herself to more than a hundred chemicals before she has even really begun her day. Yet most cosmetics and other personal care products sold in the United States contain chemicals that have never been assessed for safety. Even more shocking, Skin Deep also reported that one of every hundred products on the market lists a known or suspected human carcinogen on its label. And personal care products are only one source of our daily exposure to toxics.
